Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain how I provide my proofreading and editing services and what you can expect when working with ClearStyle English.


1. Services Provided

I provide proofreading and editing services for:

My edits focus on clarity, tone, flow, and natural-sounding English, while also correcting errors in spelling and grammar.

I do not provide translation, content creation, or legal/compliance review unless agreed in writing.

I do not change the meaning or facts in your content.


2. Quotes and Payment

Quotes and estimates are provided in writing and are valid for 30 days.

Invoices are issued in your company’s preferred currency wherever possible, and the currency will always be agreed in advance.

Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed.

Payment is normally made by bank transfer to the account details provided on the invoice.

Where possible, I provide local account details so you can pay by domestic transfer rather than international SWIFT.

For large projects, I may request partial prepayment.

Urgent projects may incur additional fees, which will be agreed in advance.


3. Client Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring all materials you provide are accurate, lawful, and original.

You should review the edited documents before publication to ensure they reflect your intended meaning.

I do not alter factual content unless specifically requested.


4. Turnaround Times

Turnaround times are agreed individually for each project.


5. Confidentiality

All documents and information are treated as strictly confidential and are accessed only by me, Matthew Bryan, owner of ClearStyle English.

I do not use subcontractors or share client materials with third parties.

I understand that some projects may include confidential or price-sensitive materials such as draft annual reports, draft financial results, interim results, and unpublished market announcements.

I understand the importance of keeping unpublished financial and market-sensitive information confidential, and I handle all materials with complete discretion.

If requested, I am happy to sign a client-provided Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), or I can provide an NDA template upon request.


6. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all documents and content you provide.

ClearStyle English claims no rights over your materials once the service is complete and payment is received.


7. Cancellations and Refunds

If you wish to cancel a confirmed project, please notify me promptly.

Work already completed will be billed proportionally. Refunds for any prepaid work are provided at my discretion.


8. Liability

While I take great care to provide accurate and professional work, I cannot be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss, cost, or damage arising from the use of edited materials. My total liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant service.


9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and any disputes will be subject to its courts.
